Paris CDG to Versailles transportation

We are arriving in Paris on August 15 (a holiday we realize, Assumption of Mary) and need to take a train from CDG airport to Versailles. I have read other posts and one from last October said they are working on part of the train line that takes you to Versailles. According to that post there is no direct line but you take RER B into Paris. Get off at St. Michel/Notre Dame and transfer to RER C going to Versailles. But work is being done on part of this route until some time in August of this year, so I don't know if this is still how you get to Versailles.

So my first question is: can we go from CDG to Versailles using the train? Second: Will the holiday affect train schedules?

I appreciate any help on this question. Thank you in advance!

You can still take the RER B to St Michel for the RER C but at St Michel, transfer to M10 until Javel, at which point you can connect to the RER C and continue to Versailles.

It is also possible to take the RER B to Denfert Rochereau, connect on M6 to Gare Montparnasse and take a train N to Versailles.

You could also take the RER B to Châtelet, connect to the RER A to la Défense and connect to train L to Versailles.

Any zone 1-5 pass will include all these options.

Thanks, Tocard, for the detailed information. So helpful.

Do you happen to know how long this all takes? Do you know if on August 15, due to holiday, if the schedules will be affected?

Thank you again,

Jana

Indeed, public transportation frequency is slower in July and August already (the slowest of the year). Normally trains and buses are less frequent on holidays, but it may be that on the 15th, there's no difference since the schedule is already so infrequent.

P.s. any of these options will take a while. How many are in your party?

Ascension is basically a Catholic holiday. I am not sure the degree to which you will find transportation affected.

I would allow 90 minutes from CDG to Versailles. It may take less time.

Thank you, Kim and Tocard. There are just two of us in my party: my husband and I.

Will follow the information you both provided. Thanks again!
