I’m looking at the Hilton hotel at CDG Paris airport for a one night stay on Sept 29 before a 9 am flight home to Atlanta. It’s a Delta flight so it leaves from Terminal 2E. The Hilton hotel is near Terminal 3.
How do I get from the hotel to Terminal 2E for my flight? I need to be there at 6 am.
Is there a hotel closer to 2E than the Hilton?
Thanks!
Yes the Sheraton is in Terminal 2 and a short walk to the check in area. We have stayed there twice for morning Air France departures. We used points as it isn’t inexpensive but the convenience was worth it to us.
Any hotel that is a quick walk to the CALVAL train/shuttle system will get you to your terminal with little time and effort. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at any of the CDG hotels that have are a 5 minute walk to a CDGVAL station. For a one night airport hotel stay, brand usually doesn’t matter to me as I have no hotel loyalty points but price and good reviews do matter.

There are several at Roissypole right on the CDGVAL intra airport shuttle which runs to all terminals all day. We stay at the Novotel when we do this -- quiet, relatively cheap, good breakfast. But there are many. Sheraton is convenient but expensive. As long as it is AT the airport and on the CDGVAL it is fine.
Thank you all for your help! I’m new with Hilton so I may book with them as I will earn a few points. Recently I have discovered the benefits of staying at an airport hotel the night before my flight home. My main concern was getting to Terminal 2E for my Delta flight.
We stayed at the Hilton the night before our morning flight last
fall. We were also going to Delta 2 E in the morning. It was very
easy. We walked across the street from the Hilton to the airport
train shuttle and went maybe 2 stops. I think only the Sheraton is
closer because it's in the airport, but with the shuttle, most of
the airport hotels are close.
We enjoyed our Hilton stay. We were at the end of a 3 weeks trip and
we were tired and arriving by train from the south of France. It was nice to arrive, check in, have a drink, eat at the hotel restaurant and go to bed
Mary, I’m glad to learn of your positive experience with the Hilton airport hotel and how easy it is to reach Terminal 2E.
You mentioned you took the train from the South of France to Paris. I’m curious about your route and train line, etc. My RS My Way Alpine tour ends in Chamonix and I’m trying to decide how best to get to Paris. Train on SNCF from Chamonix to Paris Gare de Lyon which involves 2 changes, 1 being a bus and the final leg TGV to Paris Gare de Lyon. Or, take a shuttle of some sort to Geneva or Geneva airport with a TGV train. Since I’m not familiar with this part of France- Chamonix, or Geneva, I’m concerned about making the needed connections. Any light you can shed on my situation is much appreciated.
It looks like you can take a direct TGV/Lyra train from Geneva airport to Paris Gare du Lyon for about 100€. They run every 2 hours at 29 past the even hours, 12:29, 14:29, 16:29, etc. Perhaps your My Way guide will organize a shared ride from Chamonix to the Geneva airport that you can book with the group. I know that fewer changes for journeys are a stress saver.
Hi Judy! We arrived at the Hilton on the TGV from Nimes. It goes directly to CDG with a couple stops. But prior to Nimes, we were on the My Way Alpine tour and also ended in Chamonix. From Chamonix we took a shuttle to Geneva with Mountain Dropoffs. They communicated well and picked us up at our hotel and we shared a van with 5 other people. The shuttle drops you at the Airport and it's very easy to take a quick train ride to town and the main Geneva Rail station. Then we took the train to Lyon, which was about 2 hours away. You would do the same. From Lyon, we changed to Nimes, but you would change to the TGV to CDG.
I hope you love the My Way tour as much as we did. It was perfection.
EDIT: I just checked old emails and Mountain Dropoffs picked us up at our hotel at 8:!5. We arrived at the Geneva Airport and transferred to the train to the Train station and arrived by 9:45. Our train to Lyon was at 11:30
Mona and Mary, thanks so much!
Mary, I feel more comfortable about Mountain dropoffs now and going to the Geneva airport to catch the TGV train to Lyon and then to Paris.
Friends of mine stayed in the Sheraton in CDG and said it was nice, and easy-peasy for their early flight.
I am currently staying at the Melia Inn. It is a 5-minute walk from the CDGVAL, the free minirail line between the terminals. The rooms are pleasant and the restaurant combines bistro with hamburgers at a better level than nearby hotels. Okay winelist too. It is near
Terminal 3 parking, some distance (but fast) from your landing. The terminals, with French logic, are numbered 1-3-2.
We stay at the CitizenM I believe it is one stop past the Sheraton stop. Super easy and a very fun and funky hotel. I think it took us like 3 minutes to walk from the hotel to the train and maybe 10 minutes on the train to the terminal.
Whew! Thanks to you all for excellent advice. I just made my reservation at the Airport Hilton as I have a small honors account with them. Eventually I may receive benefits on a future hotel stay.
I stay at the IBIS, which is located right next to the RER Terminal 3 station. Clean, smart and efficient hotel.
in the morning, you can take the CDGVAL to Terminal 2 (or to Terminal 1 for those flying United).
buy your breakfast in the airport after check-in.
