Are guided tours of the catacombs worthwhile? Do you recommend a guide or company in particular?

The visit to the catacombs seems to be in high demand, to the point that you cannot book more than 7 days in advance because fake entry tickets are issued.
(there is a warning message on the Catacombs website)

So if you find a guided tour make sure it is reliable.

I liked the audio guide just fine. We got held up behind a tour for a few minutes and I did not overhear anything that made me wish I had paid more for a guide.

We did this nearly 10 years ago before some movie made it a must see; so for us line was short and it wasn't crowded underground either.
Note that the place you exit is quite a long ways from where you enter; particularly important if you are meeting someone after the stroll underground.
