Paris Catacombs tour

Recommendations for a Catacomb tour? In looking at a few websites the tours were only in French. We are on the 7 Day Paris tour in late October so I should have time to get reservations.

Let me know if you have a recommendation.

Thanks.

Have you checked directly on the Catacombs website? See the Booking Tickets category below.

For English speakers, my understanding is that there is an English audioguide and timed entrance for self-tour. But, I have not been to the Catacombs, just dropped off adult offspring who wanted to visit.

(unsolicited idea!) If you have a WWII interest, I can recommend the The Liberation of Paris Museum - General Leclerc Museum - Jean Moulin Museum across the street. Free! https://www.museeliberation-leclerc-moulin.paris.fr/en/le-musee

The above description was how it worked on our last visit - timed entry and then we went through at our own pace, using an audio guide.

Since the catacombs had absolutely no appeal for me, I did the liberation museum recommended above, other half did the catacombs. Personally, I think I got the better deal because the liberation museum is great. I seemed much happier with my experience than he was with his. He thinks it needs to be about half the distance it is.

If ever a thing didn't need a tour, this would be it. It is a single path, fairly long, through a section of the catacombs where many skeletons are artistically arranged. You can get an audio guide that will describe the few points of interests (there are a couple of interesting carvings, and some monuments, but mostly it is femurs and skulls stacked up with other bones thrown behind. There is no deviation from the single trail. Just go on line and get a ticket and show up. Note that the exit is a fair piece from the entrance so if you are meeting someone after, they will want to wait near the exit.
