Paris-Burgundy-Provence June 12-26

Hi all,

Thanks for all the planning tips in prior threads. Five months of planning and we are about to embark on this six week adventure. We arrive in Paris via Thalys from Brussels on June 12 and will use that afternoon and evening to familiarize ourselves with the area near our hotel (in 12e near Gare de Lyon). Here’s the rest of the itinerary for France so I would appreciate any other sights we should not miss.

13 Jun-Vernon/Giverny Monet Gardens booked for 1:30
14 Jun- Musee d’Orsay at 10:30, free afternoon
15 Jun- Free morning, Louvre at 2:00
16 Jun- Free day to explore Paris or Versailles or day trip (recommendations?)
17 Jun- Train to Dijon, pick up car
18 Jun- Free time Burgundy for wine road trip
19 Jun- Free time for Burgundy
20 Jun- Train to Avignon, Palais de Papes
21 Jun- Free morning, afternoon wine tour 2:30-7:30 (escorted)
22 Jun- Arles (AM), Nimes (PM)
23 Jun- Morning train to Paris, Dinner near Champs de Mars, Eiffel Tower Summit 9:30 PM
24 Jun- Free day (maybe Rouen?)
25 Jun- Free day
26 Jun- Paris to London via Eurostar at 2:00

What are the must see sights for the free days?

This itinerary looks good to me!
Arles and Nîmes in the same day is a bit ambitious, but doable - in any case, if you enjoy Arles and happen to stay the whole day, it is not the end of the world!
And if you have never been to Paris before, I do not think you have time to go to Rouen ; assuming you go to Versailles on 16th June (recommended) it will be good to have 4 full days for Paris proper.

Balso,

Thank you. It is our first (but hopefully not last) trip to Paris.
