How do you get from Paris to Bruges and back the next day? Where to book tickets. Separate train line sites? Easier to book from the countries website? How far in advance can you book tickets? Thank you.

I do not understand their site at all? I was looking at tickets and it is showing me is for today.
Hi Meredith - My wife and I did exactly this on our last trip to Paris, several years ago. We were in Paris for 8 nights, and decided to take a day trip to Bruges. I don't recall that we did anything in advance, other than general planning. I think we took a "Thalys": train from the Gare du Nord (Paris train station - North), which leaves every hour. I don't recall the exact terminology, but the ticket you want is for "Brussels and any Belgian city" (something close to that.) You take that train to Brussels (90 min ?), where you switch to a more local train over to Bruges (30 min?). That lets you off within walking distance to the city center. Getting back to Paris is just the reverse of that. It was very easy. We left our apartment near Notre Dame at about 7:00 am, did the trip, spent about 4-6 hours in Bruges, and were back in Paris by around 9:00 or so. Google "the man in seat 61", and check out his website. It's fantastic, and explains everything you need to know about European train travel. Oh - I think the total expense for the two of us was something like 120 euros (?).
Set the time for the day you want like you do with any site where you are booking tickets, but I would use the Thalys web site as that is the train that serves Paris to Belgium and the Netherlands. https://www.thalys.com/fr/en
