Paris between Christmas and New Years

Hi,
Has anyone ever traveled as a family to Paris the week in-between Christmas and New Years? I am wondering if things are open and it the weather is a barrier?

Weather is obviously not a barrier since it is very popular time of year for tourists from all over and everything is open. There are still long lines of people that did not buy tickets in advance at tourist attractions. You only see small businesses closed; and just like anywhere on New Years Day everything is closed except restaurants and clubs later in the day. I rang in the New Year 2015 and 2016 in Paris. Also hotels are not cheap that time of year.

Yes, we were there with our kids about 4 years ago this Christmas. My research said not much was open in Paris on Christmas, so we visited Disneyland Paris that day. (it was our 3rd time in Paris) But that evening we saw several restaurants open in the Marais near our hotel. I can't say for sure what's open but at least some restaurants are. The weather was not a problem for us, and we are used to warm climates. Chilly and windy but not a lot of rain or temps below freezing. I did wear a blanket scarf as the wind whipped through the streets and that was the worst part. We still walked to some places and spent time outside. Just pop in a cafe for tea or coffee when you need a warm up! We left before New Year but I know a lot of people traveled that weekend so some things may be closed that day. I would visit again at that time in a heartbeat!
