Paris: Best chocolate

Hello merry wanderers -

I’ve suddenly got a hankering for smooth and creamy chocolate. Hoping to try some of the very best milk chocolate and/or dark chocolate Paris has to offer. It would be extra swell if it was found in the Montmartre area since that’s where we’re going to be tomorrow.

Going to sleep, perchance to dream of chocolaty goodness.

If you look at Paris based food writer (and pastry chef) David Lebovitz’s website, he has a decent list of many of the best chocolatiers (along with patisseries). Some have multiple locations like Patrick Roger. I also like Jean Paul Hevin and Franck Kestener.

I second skunklett above! A La Mere de Famille is wonderful. Their flagship location is not far from Montmartre and is gorgeous: 35 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre, 75009 Paris.

La Mère de Famille is a solid choice.
There's an Alain Ducasse shop on rue des Martyrs, downhill from Montmartre (recommended area if you have time), it is very good (more dark than milk).
There are plenty of other great chocolatiers (Hévin, Hénin, Hermé...) in Paris, but none are too close to Montmarte.

Hey y'all,

We returned home late Wednesday evening and are presently working on getting back into the groove of things here in Texas.

We made our way to Mere de Famille in Montmartre where we picked up some of that chocolaty goodness. I plan on savoring it one bit at a time.

Thanks for your helpful tips! Much appreciated.
