We have traveled to Paris many times but never in December. We have stayed on Rue Cler (one of Rick’s recs) and over by the Louvre a couple of times. We are thinking of changing it up and trying a new location. Looking for a higher end recommendation. We want to see the markets mostly. We have seen all the traditional tourist sites and want to enjoy the holiday spirit and then head east for Christmas markets.
We have stayed twice that time of year at Hotel Fabric in the 11th. Lovely hotel, good service, good breakfast and on a quiet street but near many lively restaurants and local shops. My husband thinks it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.
Thank you for the information. I will look into this. Much appreciated 😊
Our family loves Hôtel Signature Saint Germain des Près. signature-saintgermain.com
I've stayed there or the nearby sister property Maison Chomel during my last two December visits.
They are steps away from the Le Bon Marché, which is famous for its enchanting, animated Christmas window displays along the Rue de Sèvres.
Thank you so much for the information! Much appreciated!
Be sure to go to the big department store Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, next to the Palais Garnier (opera house). They have spectacular decorations during the Christmas season. Touring Palais Garnier is also worthwhile if you haven’t been there before.
