Paris at night in June

Traveling at the end of June and would like to see the tower lit up and sparkle. I’ve read that at this time of year it doesn’t get dark until 10 pm
Or so. When do they turn the lights on? When the sun starts to go down or when it is finally dark?

As noted on the linked web page, the tower lights turn on automatically and the sparkly lights go off at the top of each hour until 11:45 p.m. (so the last one is at 11 p.m.). For a great view, take a river cruise timed to reach the tower at peak sparkle time, I enjoyed the one hour cruise from Vedettes du Pont Neuf (https://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/home/ note that a person asking about this topic recently said the sunset times are not completely accurate on the website - double check before booking)

In the past I have checked timeanddate.com for sunset times.

The tower is visible from many places in Paris the best views (IMHO) are from the Palais de Chaillot - the large elevated area with the views from there you will recognize immediately because it is such a good vantage point. Also long Champ de Mars park on the opposite side is a common place for people to put out blankets and enjoy the evening and the view.

You might also think about a nighttime Seine cruise from Vedettes du Pont Neuf. Yes, it's touristy but it's also a great way to see the city at night and the post sunset cruises will time your view of the tower to coincide with the light display. We did it last year for the first time and it was fun and I have 1,000 pictures of the tower since you first see it and the view just keeps getting better as the cruise goes on.

Enjoy Paris,
