Paris apartment registration number-where to find it

I am planning a one-month trip to Paris in 2018 and would like to rent an apartment. I have read about Paris attempting to crackdown on unlicensed short-term rental apartments and that “legal” apartments would have a registration number or HUT.

In researching apartments through agencies, I can’t seem to figure out whether an apartment is registered or not. Where would I find this registry number so I can avoid any kind of issues with rentals?

The law is set to take full effect in December, and the registry number is to be prominent in the advert for the unit at that time. A whole bunch of AirBnB (and many many others) will de-list units then, and the few registered ones will be known. Until that happens, hard to say for sure, though I would not hesitate to ask any agency or landlord if they have a number, and what it is.
