Paris Apartment for month long stay

I am looking for an apartment in Paris for a month long stay.

It doesn't have to be in the center of town but should be in a "safe" neighborhood. A studio or one bedroom, quiet location, good wifi, kitchen., bug free, W/D.

I am looking for SPECIFIC apartment recommendations. Instead of telling me "I've had great luck with Apartments in Paris," please tell me which specific apartment you liked or didn't like.

Thanks.

Fairly open--up to € 3000/month but would prefer to pay less.

I loved the one bedroom apartment we rented in the 5th. Check VRBO #5967. The owner lives in Sausalito, CA. She might consider giving you a discount for a one month stay. The apartment has everything, including a washer and separate dryer.

Deirdre's apartment requires a 7 night stay and we will only be in Paris 5 nights, so this coming October we are renting a one bedroom in the 12th. VRBO #467733. The reviews are good and it is well located.

Good luck with your quest. One month in Paris...I'm jealous!

Be aware that the city is cracking down on illegal apartments, fining owners and generally getting serious about closing them down so there is a bit of a risk in booking as they may be withdrawn at any time. Nearly all holiday rentals in Paris are illegal; this has not been enforced in the past but is now being enforced especially if building residents complain. Because it is being enforced, building residents are beginning to complain about the strangers traipsing loudly through their buildings.

When renting for a month you should expect to pay 3 times the weekly rate; this is quite standard in Paris so if a VRBO landlord wants to charge you the weekly rate 4 times, you may be able to tactfully negotiate. Check out Perfectlyparis.com; most of their apartments are in Montmartre. It is a great agency with hands on management and will respond to any problems. We have rented for a couple of months at a time from them for about 2500 Euro per month. (alas the apartment we rented is no longer being rented).

I want to second what Jane just said. I was set up for a one bedroom for the month of October from www.parisfurnishedapartments.com and last week the apt. owners got an immediate "cease and desist" letter from the city (they emailed me a copy of the letter). Paris Furnished Apartments was great - within 24 hrs., I had a new one bedroom for about E2000 for the month (Quartier Montorgueil on their website). The big thing I like about PFA is no cash exchanges hands-everything is done by credit card and the price includes everything including apartment insurance. See their FAQs at their site. There is a hold on your credit card for possible damages but your card is not charged unless there is a problem. I looked on their website (which is easy to navigate) and they are currently listing Studio Picardie for E2190 for the month of October or a one bedroom Duval-Mo. St. Paul for E2106 for November among others. They concentrate on the Marais district which is a great part of Paris to stay in. This is the first time I am renting an apartment in Paris.

I am, sadly, nearing the end of a 3 month stay in a lovely apartment in Paris, vrbo #161354, which would be within your monthly budget..I have been paying $2500 (that is dollars, not euros) a month. It is a one bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room so I was able to entertain 4 guests while here. It is in the 4th arrondissement, within walking distance of many sites...a busy area but the apartment itself is in the back of the building, overlooking a courtyard and other apartments, vis a vis as the French would say.
You didn't mention when you planned to make the trip but if it is not within the next few months this might be a good possibility for you. Check it out.

We stayed in this place in the Marais for nine nights last fall and liked it fine. The neighborhood was a little hectic but the apartment itself was quiet, facing courtyards on a high floor with elevator. It's a glorified studio, with the bed in an alcove with sliding panels to separate from the living room. The kitchen and bath were fine, it had a washer and dryer. A short walk to the river and St-Paul metro.

We are returning to this Marais apartment next spring/summer. We will be returning for the fourth time. The owners live in the same building and are very helpful but non-intrusive.

We stayed for 7 nights in this flat in the 18th . Great space, close to metro, shops - meat, cheese, veggies, pastries and bread and restaurants. It has a very local feel, you are living in Paris with Parisians. Henri (owner) and Jean Francois (contact in Paris) both very easy to work with.

We enjoyed our long stay at Gobelins apartment in the 13th, great location and easy access to the center. The apartment is large for a one bedroom, quiet, nicely equipped and it faces a nice park. Residential neighborhood, feel like true Parisians.
We rented it through France Homestyle, a company based in Seattle, they are very reliable and were very helpful while we were there. We'll go back soon.
Good luck.
