Paris and Lyon Outdoor Dining

Is the patio/terrace still the smoking section of Parisian restaurants? Last year, I read that there was a move afoot to outlaw smoking in the outdoor areas of restaurants but I don’t know if it happened. I mention this in case smoking is an issue for you. There are a lot of places in Paris with outdoor seating. Is there a particular area where you want to eat? Meanwhile, here’s a good place to: La Terrasse du 7e: https://www.laterrassedu7.com/en.

The outdoor eating/drinking terraces in Lyon aren't up in April but are available in May through October, so keep that in mind.

It might be too cold for Paris in April, so I am anticipating a emporter, park benches and eating in my hotel room. I'll be in Lyon May 6-11, staying in the 1st. I've been looking up reviews on The Fork. Any other sites explore?

Since you will be staying in Paris and Lyon for a considerable period of time, have you thought of renting an apartment (as opposed to staying in a hotel) so that you can do a lot of your meals in the apartment? Peter

I'm renting an apartment in Lyon, but I want to enjoy the spectacular dining the city has to offer. I'll either eat outside or hope to find great restaurants that will do take away. Since many Michelin-starred are all about presentation, I'm not sure they will offer.

We were in Lyon in early April 2022 and found outdoor places to eat.
