Paris and Champagne accommodations and travel help

My husband and I will be traveling to Paris and Champagne in April 2025. This is our first visit to Champagne and my first visit to Paris.

I would like recommendations on the best way to travel from the airport in Paris to the city center.

Please share recommendations of hotels that you have enjoyed. It would be great to stay in an area that is picturesque and has a view of the Eiffel Tower without luxury prices.

We would also like suggestions on the best way to travel from Paris to Reims. I think Reims has a train station and that might be the best place for us to stay for that reason. I'm open to suggestions...

Hotel recommendations for Champagne would be really helpful for us.

From CDG Airport, taking a taxi from the official taxi queue is the easiest. It's a fixed rate. You could also take the RER train, which is less expensive.

There are many, many picturesque areas in Paris. If you will be sightseeing the major spots, then select something in the arrondisements closest to the Seine (1-7), and near a metro stop. I prefer something in the Marais or Latin Quarter. Many also like St Germaine. You can use booking.com and filter for the areas and amenities you want. We've stayed at Hotel des Grandes Hommes beside the Pantheon 3 times.

Travel to Reims is easy by train, with frequent departures.

Good advice above. A hotel-room view of the ET will be costly, but there are ET views from many locations in the city if you don't need to see it from your room. Trains run often between Paris Gare de l'Est and Reims. We liked this hotel in Reims, a short walk across a park from the station, but there are many other choices.

Two of my regular Paris hotels have rooms with partial views of the Eiffel Tower. I enjoy staying at both the Hotel Muguet and Hotel Relais Bosquet. I'm not sure what your budget is but I feel like I am a "moderate" traveler....not really in to luxury, lol.

Both of these hotels are in the 7th Arrondissement. The train in from CDG requires 2 metro changes to get to Ecole Militaire and as an older solo woman traveler I'm not going to do that with luggage, lol. I take a taxi from the taxi rank at CDG for the fixed rate. Here is the official CDG website with the taxi rates listed. For the Left Bank, taxis are 65Euro. No tip needed.

What a wonderful time you will have!
