Week in Paris for 5 adults mid December. I have stayed in Paris through AirBNB and also VRBO but no apt available in the area I want. Other suggestions? Looking around 8th, 16th, area.

Non-hotel lodgings are a lot more difficult to find in Paris now than in the past, because the city has been cracking down on non-registered short-term rentals. The threat of huge fines has no doun\bt driven some owners to take their rental units off the market. Wherever you look, you should see a 13-digit registration number. You might expand your search to include apart'otels.
A price range in euros per night would be helpful to those seeking to suggest specific rentals for you. And perhaps some guidance as to location.

The good ones go fast. Last time we rented an apartment in Paris we had to book nine months in advance. Have you looked on Booking.com, they have apartments.

I suggest-get two hotel rooms- nicer to have two bathrooms

Booking.com has apartments. Just be careful if you are looking for two bathrooms. Often a “two bath” means one room with a toilet and one room with a shower, not two toilets and two showers.
