Paris - advice on locations to stay

Hi,
I'm looking to drive to Paris at the end of May for a couple of nights and have been wondering about parking. How easy is it to find somewhere to park?

We are happy to stay in the suberbs provided it is a nice area, and near to a metro station if parking is not generally available centrally. But, is parking available centrally, or is it similar to London, where parking is super expensive centrally?

In the suberbs of London, you can use an app called Just Park to book a space in someone house, on their drive for £10-20. Is something similar available in Paris?

Just looking for some general advice really please and if we do need to park in the suberbs, where would you suggest on the north side (as we will be driving down from Calais).

Much Appreciated!

I have never driven, nor will I ever drive, much less park a car in Paris. Perhaps there are seasoned French motorists who would and can offer you their advice, but I am not one of them. I found an article that may be of help to you, should you decide to undertake this endeavor: https://en.parisinfo.com/practical-paris/how-to-get-to-and-around-paris/getting-around-by-car-car-parks-and-parking-paris. This website outlines parking options in the outskirts near Metro or RER stations: https://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/holiday-ideas/paris-park-and-ride-guide/. Perhaps some experienced motorists will chime in. Bonne chance!

there are lots of parking garages in Paris but of course they get more expensive the more central you are; this is true in any large city. With so little time, I'd just factor that in to the cost of the stay and ask your hotel about parking near the hotel. Because they are underground and not easy to spot if you don't know where the entrances are, be sure you have very good directions and a picture of the entrance if it is available.

What Janettravels said. Though if you want to stay in the suburbs or do not want to drive within the city at all, I suggest staying near stops on Metro lines 1 or 8 outside of Paris.

If your accommodation does not have parking, there are plenty of underground parking garages all over Paris costing typically 30-50€/day. There's a booking system called "OpnGo" that could reduce the cost somewhat.
