That is super low for a hotel in Paris -- which rents in Euros not dollars. We have stayed at the Hotel Delambre on Rue Delambre in the 14th -- it is a great area for brasserie, crepe places, cafes etc and public transport and is an easy walk through the Luxembourg Gardens to the center. We have paid around 100 Euro for basic rooms which do have safe, wifi, AC and decent enough bathrooms. They do range in price depending on the season. The budget hotels near where we usually stay -- which is not a particularly desirable or central neighborhood tend to run about 130. There are super cheap rooms at budget hotels on the edges of Paris but the inconvenience and lack of charm make them less a bargain.
On a budget I would not go to Switzerland which is IMHO neither a very attractive place to visit (unless you are in a mountain village) and which is crazy expensive. It makes Paris look downright cheap.
