Paris - 40th Birthday Dinner Recs

Hi all -

My husband and I will be visiting Paris for the first time at the end of September/beginning of October for his 40th birthday. We will be there for a total of 10 nights staying in the 2nd Arr.

Wanted to get a few dinner recommendations from the group for both celebratory and casual dining. We are big foodies and wine drinkers and don't mind spending money on tasting menus, but know expensive doesn't always equal good.

Additionally, I'm trying not to over plan our days and make sure we keep our itinerary flexible. With that said, how many evening should I make dinner reservations?

Appreciate any and all help!

Kristen

Check out Bustronôme. You won't regret it. It's an unforgettable experience.

My wife and I got back from celebrating my big 5-0 a week ago and we did the Ducasse sur Seine dinner cruise and the food was amazing as was the cruise. We did the last sailing which got us back to the Eiffel Tower area to see the light show and by the time you're there the sunset will be earlier so more of a lights display going on. For this, you need a reservation and can be done online however for other dinners we were okay without reservations.

Have a great time; Paris is an amazing place to celebrate a milestone birthday. :)

My friends and I twice were in Paris, and twice had a birthday dinners at Au Chien Qui Fume‎‎.
The place is amazing. Dishes we ordered ( I had tuna with rice, my friend had pasta, I think, and other seafood) were delicious. They have pretty good choice of wine, which is also tasty. The prices, as for Paris, are normal, maybe a little bit higher than awarage.
And the restaurant is always crowded, and there are a lot of locals, so it's a good sight
