While walking along the Seine today (both sides) we came across a beautiful military? Parade of soldiers on horseback with music .... I'd say at least 75 total?!
A beautiful pageantry... and I am so curious as to what it was for?! Anyone know?
They are the Republican Guards.
They have several bases in Paris (République, Bastille, etc.)
When they knew you were around, maybe they wanted to play some music for you :-))
You will also see the Republican Guard as one of the units in the massive morning parade on 14 July in Paris....very much a spectacle.
