I have a few paper Metro/bus tickets left from a previous visit to Paris. Will I still be able to use them in October?
yes. There are still some stiles that have ticket slots. I think they follow the old rules . The new metro tickets take you anywhere in the Ile de France. The old ones take you anywhere in Paris and anywhere the metro goes except Orly.
Tickets t+, if you have any, are valid for use through 2025. They may be used as either métro/RER/Transilien tickets, now 2.50€, or as bus/tramway tickets, now 2€.
I believe they have stopped selling paper tickets - at least at some stations - on June 1st. We were in Paris at the start and end of our trip and I had forgotten to dig out my Navigo Easy pass when we packed to head back to Paris. In the metro station at Gare de Lyon I realized my mistake but they would not sell me a paper ticket so I had to buy another Navigo Easy pass (2e) with one ticket on it and I came home with two passes.
I could lament the death of metro ticket - I still occasionally find blue tickets as bookmarks in older books - but the Navigo system works really well and is so flexible and self service ready I can't say I'm going to miss them.
Enjoy Paris!

Thanks so much Janet and Tocard and hiredman. In addition to a few t+ tickets my husband and I have 2 Navago Easy cards with some amount of value on them. Don't know if the value is a euro amount or a number of rides. When I add value to my Navago Easy cards do I do so in a euro amount or so many rides at either €2 or €2.50? I did like the simplicity of the t+ tickets as they were interchangeable for bus or Metro. That said, it's still Paris and how that could that be?
Get the Bonjour RATP cell phone app and you can read and add tickets to cards using your phone. You can add bus or metro tickets in 1,3 or 10 ticket bunches and assuming you have a pay with your phone option configured you can use that. There is no cost difference per number of rides so juat add as many as you know you'll need. The most difficult part is having to type in your email address every time for the receipt.
This means you can check and add trips in your hotel room or at the cafe rather than in the metro station. We mostly used the metro but if you decide to take a bus just add the ticket while you wait for the bus and tap when you get on. As I said the new system really is so much easier.

How do you deal with the cohabitation issues of the t+, the RER and the airport tickets?.
you cannot put an airport ticket on a card with other tickets. You may need to buy a separate card; I haad to do so because our Easy had not been empty for the 4 hours before we tried to load the airport ticket. We did not realize this 4 hour rule. We just bought a second Easy for her airport trip.
And you don't put Euros on an Easy; it takes airport tickets for 13 if empty; day passes for 12; individual metro tickets for 2.50 each usable anywhere in the Ile de France for RER or metro; bus tickets for 2.
Old cards with old tickets work fine. We arrived in Paris this spring with old tickets on old Easies and had to use those before we could reload with the new tickets. FWIW one of our cards failed to reload and was defective; alas this was at Chatelet with long lines for service, but the clerk did determine the card was defective and replace it.
So you suggest keeping an easy dedicated to airports tickets.
Also I have a few t+ tickets on my old Easy. Can I get from Paris to Sartrouville with a t+ ticket?. I couldn't before.
Lots of thanks
I hope someone with experience will answer your question. My understanding was that the old t+ ticket play by the old t+ rules and thus could not be used like the new metro/RER 2.50 tickets but only on the metro and in Paris on the RER. But I don't KNOW this. Would love someone with experience of using them outside Paris to clarify. An Easy is only 2 Euro. so maybe get a new one for those tickets and use the old one locally.
Thanks, everyone! Let's see if I got this right: I use my old t+ paper tickets if the Metro station accepts them or use them on the bus/tram. I have some credit from putting a carnet of 10 tickets on my Navigo Easy card on a previous trip. I can use my Navigo Easy for rides around Paris but I must use up all my old credit (tickets) before adding new credit/tickets on my card. So far so good? Does my Navigo Easy need to be empty for 4+ hours before reloading it with the new Metro and bus tickets?
Hiredman, thanks for your input. I have the Bonjour RAPT on my phone but I'm unsure as to how to read my Navigo Easy. Do I need to set up an account 1st? Or is there a specific way to navigate the app?
Again, thank you one and all. It's a great help.
Tickets t+ may be used in the same way as either MTR tickets at 2.50€ or BT tickets at 2€. They may not be used for travel to airports.
Tickets t+ are no longer sold, but existing tickets may be used through 2025.
