Panoramic Mont Blanc gondola to Pointe Helbronner

Will be in Chamonix on May 1, 2023. Am getting confusing and conflicting information about whether or not the gondola will be operating. Does anyone have any reliable information or a reliable straightforward site?

This gondola is only open in the summer months. Check here for more information:SeeChamonix.com

Beware of altitude sickness.
When my daughter and I went up to the Aiguille du Midi, I developed a headache, after being there for a short time, and knew it was time to descend.

Enjoy your time in beautiful Chamonix!

Here’s another good website: Chamonix.net

You may be out-of-luck for that date. According to one of the sites listed in the previous reply, the Panoramic Mont Blanc won't be operating until later in May....

"From 27 to 31 May 2023  (forecast, waiting for Skyway times)"

Are you planning to go just to Pointe Helbronner or all the way down into the valley? It's a good idea to check the websites just prior to the ascent, as the Panoramic cable car can be affected by adverse weather.

As the previous reply also mentioned, the Aguille du Midi is at about 12,600 feet, and some people can experience altitude related issues. I had some problems after a few hours at the top. These may not occur right away, but it's prudent to be prepared. If you think that might be a problem for you, it would be a good idea to have a chat with your doctor before the trip.

Even if the Panoramique is open (which I suspect it isn't), you want to be careful about
purchasing tickets ahead of time, as the weather can be finicky and variable at that altitude.
Plus, for a single day, the Aiguille du Midi + Panoramique ticket is north of $100, not cheap.

We had our Mont Blanc multi-day passes to ride the Aiguille du Midi, but I believe you can
only purchase the Panoramique tickets once you are at the top.
