How far ahead can I book guided tour tickets for Palais Garnier? It is March and appears to be sold out for May 2026, unless they don’t issue ticket this far in advance. Thanks
Since there do not appear to be openings past May 2, I would assume that the later ones are not open yet. Just guessing. There are many openings in March and April and on May 2 -- but not after that.
We went in November 2024 and only booked our tickets a week or two in advance, altho that was for the audio tour, not the guided tour. Something to note is if there is a performance being staged during the time period you are visiting (not necessarily during the actual visit itself, but later in the day), you won't be able to see inside the actual auditorium where the Chagall ceiling is. I was a bit disappointed as that was one of the main reasons we were going, tho there are plenty of other things to see. The only way to guarantee seeing inside the auditorium is by booking a ticket for a performance.
It’s 30 days out - so just check back.
I did two tours there. The first, in English, with a staff guide, was forgettable. Rote.
The second, also in English, with Paris-Walks, was unforgettable. The guide was an opera-goer. She shared the social history and customs of opera going in Paris. Like a Context tour, at a much lower price and less hefty time commitment.
As we know from watching The Gilded Age, opera going was not about the music. Strict social positioning.
Just my two-cents.
