We would like to tour the Normandy beaches in October. How long in advance does one need to make a tour reservation with Overlord or one of the other tour companies?

I would book now,we booked four months ahead for a tour in May and we had to take our second day choice,Overlord is great.

Immediately- these small group tours only take 8 people at a time and the better they are, the faster they book.

Overlord using a larger bus for larger groups but they are still large. We went in October two years ago and there were about 12 on our tour. Very worth doing and book as soon as you know your dates as they do fill up. We booked several months ahead.

If you know your date, there's no harm in booking now. With Overlord, we secured with a credit card, but we actually paid the guide in cash on the day of the tour. It was a wonderful tour!!

Enjoy your Overlord tour! My adult son and I did the Band of Brothers full-day tour in late October several years ago with Olivier and he was wonderful! I booked about a month ahead and there were only 5 of us (plus Olivier) in an 8 passenger minivan.

We used Normandy Guided tours yesterday with Francis Paz. He was outstanding in all ways. He does private tours. He also customized the tour for us.
