Look for the large vans with the big Army Green Star on the front and sides!! The Overlord Tour with our new French friend Rudolph (1/2 Day to the DDay Landing Beaches) was excellent and his knowledge base is incomparable due to his interest and clear passion for making a complete record of the shared stories for the last 20+ years. Cannot recommend enough. Very inexpensive and you learn so much from the guide while you are driven to each site, and you don’t have to drive the small roads and study the parking maps beforehand!
Rudolph gave us important details on surrounding tours like the Mont St Michel Abbey tour and helped us with the best time of day to visit and to eat on the way back down the Abbey mountain for example.
Also more importantly excellent information on the other important locations to see including the large German soldier (Cimetière Allemand) cemetery with black gravestones and a small free visitor center museum only 15 minutes drive from Bayeux city center.
