Ouigo : The French Rail Low Cost High Speed Train

Just an FYI y'all
There was some talk about the inability to buy tickets directly from Ouigo from The USA and Canada. Using the ap I just scored 2 direct tickets Paris to Toulouse for 62 euros from Gare De Montparnasse.
Train leaves at 8:52 arriving in Toulouse at 13:30.
I got two seats with outlets which are 4 Euros more.
Oh yeah one airline carry on size and personal item size bags are free.
After that you gotta pay.

Don't forget to arrive 30 minutes before departure time. Ouigo has a different boarding/ticket checking process than other French trains.
Canadian issued credit cards cannot be used to buy Ouigo tickets but that has not been applicable to US-issued cards. For future Ouigo ticket buyers, here a current list of the approved countries (territories): Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, French Southern Territories, Germany, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Caledonia, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, St Pierre and Miquelon, Sweden, Switzerland, United States and United Kingdom.

Thanks. This will be 2nd time on Ouigo it is similar to Izy which is Thalys owned low cost between Paris and Brussels. On the ap they have listed Canada. You have to choose your country before you can buy a ticket I don't know if people from Canada tried buying using the ap.

Going on our first Ouigo in December and I paid for two additional bags -- at €5 apiece it's not a dealbreaker and avoids having my CPAP treated as an extra bag for €20 at the gate. Only €48 total for two Paris to Strasbourg and I booked on Trainline.
EDIT on 16 December -- because of the anticipated major strike(s) on December 5 and following, I switched our plane flight to Frankfurt so the non-refundable Ouigo tickets will be a lost cost unless that train is cancelled on December 10 and I ask for a cash refund.

The best-laid plans ....

That's strange timing and pricing - thats almost as slow as the intercities train (leave Austerlitz at 08:27, arr Toulouse Matabiau 15:19) from 25euros pp. The TGV InOui is 39 second class (per ticket) dep 11.52, arr 16.11 On the TGV all seats have oulets.

(addendum - I dont like Ouigo - far too much of a faff doing the Ouigo dance )

I am not taking Ouigo to promote it.
There were no trains cheaper or faster on the particular day and time that I want to travel. The intercity is 2 hours more slower than I can tolerate.

Ouigo does have some great deals, often hard to justify paying otherwise with the differences. We live in France and take them fairly frequently. Sure, it's not the best but it gets you from A to B for next to nothing sometimes.

As far as the intercites train being 'almost as slow', the duration is 48% longer. TGV inOui at that other time is 19 minutes faster but leaves hours later. Enjoy the trip!

I used them twice during my trip last September. I purchased the tickets on-line from home, and they sent me an email about three days before the date of travel with the ticket attached. No issues.
