We will be in Paris July 22-23. I looked at the Orsay museum website and it seems that for those dates tickets are not available. Is this because the tickets for late July have not been released yet? The website doesn’t indicate why. Does purchasing a ticket also include a specific time for entry? Thank you.
See this link regarding tickets. The tickets are available through July 19 right now. Keep checking and your dates should show up soon. https://billetterie.musee-orsay.fr/billets-d-entree-au-musee-d-orsay-expo-css5-museeorsay-lgen-pg1-rg28911.html
Yes, you will get tickets for a specific time.
AND be sure to sure to use the website Kathy linked! There are a number of fake ticket websites as evidenced by the red banner across the top of the official Orsay website alerting customers to the fact.
IF you are early folks, I'd go for the earliest entry you can manage because yes, it is a timed entry ticket. This museum gets very busy and the 5th floor where the Impressionist paintings are hung always feels hot to me.
The Renoir exhibition that is currently showing closes July 19 but there is so much to see here!
They're doing construction at the front of the building so the temporary entrance for most ticket holders is on the side of the building facing the Seine. (Look at the website to see where the location is.) When you enter there, look for the escalators that are just to the left of where you enter and take those to the 5th floor, then work your way down!
Thank you both very much. I’ll just have to cool my heels for a few more days. Thanks for the tip about going as early as possible also.
My suggestion is to keep a tab open for the official Orsay ticketing website and just refresh it every morning, lol!!
