We are planning on driving from Amboise to Orly Airport, but do not want to drive into crazy Paris traffic. Time of day is to leave Amboise around 9:00ish on a Tuesday (May 28) to avoid Paris rush hour traffic. Never been to Paris so do not know the typical traffic situation around Orly at noonish. Taking a flight to Nice to avoid the longer train trip.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Roy
Traffic should not be problematic at that time of the day, exceptional events (accidents, protests...) aside.
It is still dense traffic, but it should flow freely.
Google maps has an interesting feature where you can plan a route for a given time, and it gives you a range of estimated driving times.
Use Waze! We used it last year for a month including in/out of Charles de Gaulle airport without issue. It will talk you right through it.
Getting to Orly is not a piece of cake, no matter which driving app you use. We encountered some of the densest, fastest traffic anywhere in France when we used to drive into or out of Orly.
