Orly airport connection time

Arrive at Orly at 8:40 AM from NY. Need to go through customs, collect bags, check in at different airline and go through security. How much time should I allow? I am looking at a 11:50 AM flight out. Thank you.

How much will it cost you (in time and money) if you miss the onward flight and have to buy a replacement ticket? I'd factor that into the equation.

The 3 hours you have set already is ideal but yes if it is separate ticket you should have a plan B in case the first flight arrives late.

Orly is fairly small so it looks OK, but if you are arriving at Terminal 1 (Formerly West) and leaving from Terminal 4 (Formerly Sud), it still takes 20-30 minutes to go across, and Terminal 4 can be really tricky in terms of security line due to the high number of "unseasoned" travellers who seem to discover the rules.

Certainly no less than 3. hours to account for a slightly late flight, poorly staffed immigration etc etc. And it is always risky to take a separate flight close to ETA of an international flight -- while one usually makes it with 3 hours, it is not unusual for planes to be very late, immigration to close down for a problem or be very slow and for security to be slow. The carry on rules for intra European flights are more strict than US overseas flights so a carry on that is no issue NY to ORY may very well have to be checked for say Easyjet or Vueling or even AF and that adds complexity. I personally would not do it with less than 4 hours with two separate tickets. 3 is probably usually enough especially since the onward flight is presumably less expensive than the Atlantic flight and so less a catastrophe to miss.
