It appears to be cheaper to buy tickets at the museum versus online. I will be there in June and I’m wondering if it would be preferable to buy tickets early online. I don’t know what to expect as far as lines to buy tickets directly at the museum and don’t want to spend a lot of time in a line.

What you don't want is for there to be no availability of tickets, which is what will happen. Definitely buy tickets online now as they are on sale for June. Be sure to be on the official website.
The last time we were there, there was a line for those who didn't have tickets. It didn't mean they could stand in line and they could buy tickets. It meant they might let a very few of those people in. Most weren't allowed in to buy tickets.

I hope you are looking at the official website for tickets. If you see a higher price, check that you are not on a reseller's site.
