It appears to be cheaper to buy tickets at the museum versus online. I will be there in June and I’m wondering if it would be preferable to buy tickets early online. I don’t know what to expect as far as lines to buy tickets directly at the museum and don’t want to spend a lot of time in a line.
What you don't want is for there to be no availability of tickets, which is what will happen. Definitely buy tickets online now as they are on sale for June. Be sure to be on the official website.
The last time we were there, there was a line for those who didn't have tickets. It didn't mean they could stand in line and could buy tickets. It meant they might let a very few of those people in. Most weren't allowed in to buy tickets.
Love this museum!
I hope you are looking at the official website for tickets. If you see a higher price, check that you are not on a reseller's site.
Judy, they are a little bit cheaper (1+ euro) to buy at the museum instead of on the official museum website. Seems counterintuitive but it's true. But, then of course, they sell out, and they are so difficult or near impossible to get in person, so not sure the marketing strategy.
Thanks, KD. Good to know.
There will likely be a very long line for people without tickets. There was when I visited (with tickets I bought 2 months earlier) last April. We walked right to the ticketed line and got right in .
Buy online & be waiting in line before they open! It's well worth being one of the first ones there to see the Monet exhibit.
