orange sim card in France

Wondering if you have any feedback on using Orange sim card sold by Amazon in France.
There is already a thread in RS forum but it's dated (last updated in 2017)

Thank you

Orange - formerly France Telecom - is one of the largest telecoms in Europe. They have many stores all over France, even in rather small towns. I've posted recently on this Forum about our positive experience with their Orange Holiday SIM card earlier this year. Did not need to go through Amazon. Walked into an easily found store, they did all the setup, and we walked out about 10 mins later with a verified fully functional setup on my wife's iPhone. It came with so much data that I didn't bother to get my own SIM card, I just used the personal hotspot on her phone for my own internet access. Coverage was great in rural areas.

I used an Orange sim from Amazon in France this year no problems. Also bought the same sim from a Orange store in France for my wife, no problems.

I prefer to buy it there, have a tech install the SIM and make sure the phone works, then pay. I visit an Orange boutique to get a SIM. I'm sure they work fine if you buy from Amazon. My way is a less convenient but prevents me from having unforeseen difficulty getting my phone up and running.

I bought one of those for a trip last fall and it worked very well. I just refilled it on their website and used it again in France last month. It was worth the price and worked very well in my Verizon unlocked Android phone. Would definitely recommend it, and then you already have it when you arrive and can pop it in and you are good to go.

If your flight arrives at CDG Terminal 2E, there is an Orange kiosk at baggage carousel 32. I wouldn't bother getting the SIM from Amazon. I have purchased at this kiosk twice, and each time it took about 5 minutes, and the tech installed and activated it, then made sure my US SIM was secured for the trip home.

Sim card bought from Amazon worked great. I just inserted the sim card and it just worked. No need to do anything to activate it. Coverage in Paris, Provence and Nice was good too. We also got a promotional 8GB.

My husband and I both bought Orange sim cards on Amazon for about $22 and popped them in when we landed at Orly 2 weeks ago and they worked immediately. The only annoying thing is Orange texts you incessantly about providing your info to them, which you don’t need to do unless you want to top up the card. Our cards were good for 14 days; 30 mins of talk, 200 texts and a promotional 8 gb of data. Highly recommend.

We bought a SIM at an Orange store on Rue de Rivoli several years ago, it never worked well. I think our experience was not typical, but the salesman was unhelpful and I vowed never to buy from Orange again. In retrospect we should have just walked out. There are other choices.
