My wife and I are traveling to France for 13 day the last week in May. We fly in/out of Paris because it was the only reasonable flights available. We’ve been to Paris before and planning to go again so we’re less concerned with staying in Paris. We’re looking to see small towns and village life. We love food and wine (mostly reds but I’ll drink anything). We plan to have a car and mix in train when needed. We want to “live the French life” as much as we can. We don’t mind spending 2 nights in one place but prefer 3 unless travel distance/time is short. We did Belgium (Brussels, Ghent, and Bruges) in 2 night increments but the next town was only a 30 minute train ride.
Our main goal is to experience French culture. Sight seeing and museums are great but if we had a choice (which we do) we’d spend it in the local markets, eating, drinking, and wondering the villages.
Thank you for your opinions!
