One D-Day beach and Mont Saint-Michel in a single day?

Hello travelers! I have one full day in Bayeux, and would like to visit one or two D-Day beaches and Mont Saint-Michel. Is it possible to do this in a single day; and if yes, what are the transport options?

Thanks,
Roy

We were just in Bayeux and did the D-Day tour and Mont St. Michel tour but you cannot do it in a day. There are 1/2 day D-Day tours available but most are 5 1/2 hours long. We took a tour to Mont St. Michel which took us 7 hours. The trip alone to St. Michel was 1 hour and 45 minutes each way. The beaches you would want to stay. In my book it would be hard to do. I guess if you rented a car you could get it done in the day but not much time at any one place.

I agree with the first post, you don't want to try to do both in the same day.
Too much distance to travel and too much to see at each. Give yourself the gift of 2 days for these.

kg,

It may be possible to see both places in a single day, but I'm not sure it would be worthwhile as you wouldn't have enough time to really see much of either location. There's an enormous amount to see of the D-Day sites, and I'd highly recommend taking at least a half-day tour as that's the best way to cover the highlights (check Overlord Tours for details). They provide transportation and will get you around the area quickly and efficiently. The American Cemetery is a "must see" (IMHO). There's also an excellent D-Day Museum in Bayeux and of course the famous Tapestry that describes a much earlier battle.

Is there any way you could allocate another day to that part of your trip?
