One night in Nancy?

My husband and I will be traveling by train from Colmar back to Paris this December and have visited Strasbourg and many of the small towns in Alsace. We wondering if Nancy is worth a night's stop over. I heard it was a beautiful baroque city. Does anyone have any experience here or possibly recommend another stop via train back to Paris.

Thank you.

Yes. Smaller city but beautiful nonetheless. If you like the smaller Alsace towns, you will like Lyon.

Not sure how the train works, but I would put Beaune, and Reims slightly ahead of Nancy.

I love Nancy. If Art Nouveau grabs you, the city is a gem of that style. The Musee de l'Ecole de Nancy has a fabulous collection of glass, especially that of Emile Galle, ceramics, furniture, and graphic art. There are also many buildings whose Art Nouveau exteriors can be viewed. There is a well-maintained medieval section, as well. Place Stanislaus is one of the most attractive public spaces of any in Europe.
