one half day and one night in Paris, France

Hello:

We are doing a week in the Normandy area of France in October 2025. We have been to Paris, France several times so this trip is not really about seeing or doing Paris. We are however in Paris for about half a day and a night before we fly out on our last day. I am wondering if people can suggest a convenient area to stay in? We are going to take a taxi from our hotel on the day that we fly out. We will be arriving in Paris from Caen, France on the train? I am not sure where we should stay? Any recommendations? Our budget is somewhere around 500 to 700 Canadian for the night. This would be about 380 euros per night. Thanks.

First thing I'd do is make sure to order your taxi at the latest, when you arrive. Better two days ahead. Download the app and you can do it before you leave Normandy.

I'd stay somewhere in the northeast of the city, the 10th or the northern part of the 11th. That will seriously cut down on the traffic getting out of the city in your taxi.

I might look at the Hotel Fabric or the Maison Breguet. Both are very nice and within your budget. You'll have no end of excellent restaurant opportunities for dinner near either of these hotels.

Your train will arrive at Gare St Lazare. You could stay near there, or at any of the hotels you have previously stayed at, as long as they would be a convenient distance from the station. Booking.com is showing quite a few hotels within a kilometer of the station with very good ratings within your budget.

I'm assuming that you're flying out of CDG. The fastest the trip to CDG was for us was when we stayed in the 18th (Montmartre) with much less traffic than other areas of Paris than we've stayed in before. If you are arriving in Paris at Gare St-Lazare, a taxi from the train to Montmartre should be @ 15 minutes.
