Hello, I'll be in Paris (05/7 to 15) with my family (party of 4 with a 3 and 8 years old kids). We want to visit Herge Museum and (if possible) the Bande Desinee Museum and Magritte Museum in Brussels. Everything in a day.
We think about leaving Paris early in the morning (around 8AM) and return around 8PM.
Is it possible?

It's possible, but not a great idea. You have three hours of travel time on the train plus let's say an hour to travel to the stations and wait for the train. So that will be at a minimum 4 of your 12 hours spent in transit. That leaves you with 8 hours to get to and see three museums, one of which is about 50 minutes from Brussels Midi train station. Maybe just plan for the Herge museum as the day trip and going to one of the other two if time permits.
Even if you have time, you will be mentally exhausted by the time you've done two museums. I would cut your plan down.
The Centre Belge de la Bande Desinee is much more rewarding if you can read either French or Dutch to a reasonable level. If you are only English-reading it is less rewarding.
Thanks Philip and HK. If we decide to go to Brussels, it will be Herge Museum only and walking a bit.
Thank you
