I know, I know .... cruising isn't the best way to see the world but this is what is going to work for us right now. I'm trying to get the most 'french feel' in the one day we are there. We'll be in Southern France, docking in La Seyne sur Mer. I think we'd like to go to Aix-en-Provence. Does anyone know which buses you would take there and back? Thank you.

You should get Rick's Mediterranean Cruise Ports book. La Sayne-sur-Mer is a small port across the bay from Toulon. Rick does not recommend traveling to Aix on your own from Toulon because of the distance. Instead, he says to sing up for the cruise ship excursion to Aix. If you want to go somewhere on your own, he suggests Cassis or Marseille, which are doable from the Toulon train station. Between the two, I'd rather be in Cassis, since Marseille is too gritty for my taste.
