Omaha and Sainte-Mere-Eglise

Hi all, first time posting and I'm not seeing a search button to try find a related topic.... We're excited that we have booked for next spring our Best of Europe tour that ends in Paris. It is my husband's dream to see Omaha and Sainte-Mere-Eglise right after the tour ends. I have read some companies will do this in a one (long) day tour but there are several to pick from. We are ok with one long day (extending our RS Paris hotel reservation) or would maybe consider a 2 day tour. Have others done this and have recommendations of companies to look into?

IF you can add a few nights after your tour, I’d vote for taking the train to Bayeux and spending 2 nights there. That gives you one full day in the area for a day tour. You’ll see much more of the landings area this way if your day doesn’t have to include the long transport from and back to Paris on that day. Then you’d go back to Paris for the night before your flight out.

You could also consider the Paris and Heart of France tour, lol!!

I agree with Pam about staying in Bayeux. It is a delightful town and has the Bayeux Tapestry to see as well as making a good base for the D-day sites We did a day tour from there with Overlord Tours and thought they did a great job.

Another vote for staying over in Bayeux. We have stayed at both the Churchill and the Reine Mathilde and both worked well for us.
