Old Paris Navigo card: can I put money back on it?

During our fantastic 'Heart of Paris' tour last year, we were issued a Navigo card, which is the best thing since sliced cheese. I still have the card, can I 'recharge' it somehow so that I can use it again without having the buy a new one and go through the hoops of pasting my picture on it all over again?

Merci!

You sure can, Mike. I've been using mine longer than 5 years, have been wondering if it will expire! All you need to do is go to a machine in the metro stations. You can pick English language and follow the directions. You place your Navigo on a reader on the machine, and it will tell you when you last charged it up, which is cool. Use the roller to make your selections to recharge, then pay. Some machines take only credit cards with a chip, but some will take cash if you don't have a chip card, so look to distinguish between the two before starting your recharge.

My card must be about 20 years old and it worked fine last year, charged it at a machine in a metro station.

The Navigo Decouverte cards are supposed to be valid for 10 years. You will see an expiration date on your receipt when you re-charge to give you an idea how much time you have left.

I believe that the cards were introduced in 2007 - so it would be impossible to have a 20 year-old card.

You're right. I was guessing, thought the photo was a lot older. My first trip to Paris after 2007 was June 2009. Now I'll have to remember to take a new photo with me, when I go back after June 2019. In the meantime, I'm hoping to be back in Paris at least once before that.
