Official Taxi

I need to take a taxi on a Sunday from one Gare to another in Paris. What reputable taxi company should I look for?

There are official taxi stands at the train stations we used several times in last two weeks. The super aggressive non regulated taxi drivers were unbelievable at Gard du Nor including trying to touch my arm.and guide me.out of the line waiting at the official taxi stand. He messed with the wrong person and a security officer had to come over to remove him out of the way. Official taxis were great reasonable and clean. Good !uck.

When possible take the train e.g. Nord to St. Lazare take the RER E. to Ost there are several train options. Faster, no traffic and cheap.

Otherwise use the official taxi queue and absolutely don't let anyone offer you a taxi -- as they say at Chicago airports 'anyone who offers you a taxi ride should not be giving one.'

Nord is notorious for fraudulent drivers. Even in the official queue sometimes. Make sure the meter is running when you pull out and the amount on the meter is low (I can't remember the pull rate, but it is something like 3.50 -- make sure 15 is not already on the meter. AND if they quote a fixed price, get out of the cab and get another; there is no fixed price except from the airports and cab drivers will sometimes try to charge the CDG fixed price out of Nord.

Train is most efficient and cheapest. If you can do it by RER rather than metro, there will be elevators and escalators at both ends. The metro generally involves some steep stairs and with luggage that can be an issue.
