sometimes, if you google for it, you can reach the articles yourself. I tried "trees in Paris" and the NYT article was the first thing that popped up.

What an interesting article! Thank you Insbig for linking and and thank you Carrie for the gift.

I REALLY noticed the trees this year in April...as the Horse Chestnut trees were blooming everywhere and I quickly determined I am very allergic to them, lol! I kept re-testing myself for Covid because I was having so many symptoms...all of which, yes, were allergy-related.

I also love to go to the Jardin des Plantes to look at the very old tree specimens there....different than the trees along the streets and in non-botanical parks.

And here is the counterpoint article, from just a couple of weeks precious, about the profound frustration many of us Paris residents feel at the far-too-greedy felling of trees under the current mayoral administration.

(I have hopefully gifted this article)

When in Paris I always make a point to stop off and see the Black Locust tree in Square Rene Viviani.

we're not travelling at the moment because of the heat waves but I wonder if the trees in Paris are affected by the drought. I saw some heart rending pictures of the crops in the Loire this evening...

Yes, thanks Carrie. Horse Chestnut lover as well. And Kim, thanks for your share. It's sad to see them cut any trees.

@Jane…come on out to Coeur dAlene next June! I had never noticed how many there are in the older downtown area…until I had major issues with them in Paris!
