NYE in Paris - Recommendations on where to celebrate

My husband and I will be in Paris on Dec 31st and are looking for recommendations on events, experiences, restaurants, hotels, etc. for a fun and lively evening. We are not interested in the Champs-Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe craziness, but are looking for a restaurant or hotel bar/restaurant (or similar) with a live band or show, or a champagne celebration, or dancing or...

The cabarets are all sold out and we're struggling to identify any opportunities (aside from the super upscale hotels whose fixed costs are around 1000€ per person.)

Any recommendations?

The thread above yours from jendorwin had a similar question. One of the posters named a few places for dinner. I don't think there was music or any entertainment at the suggestions. You will need some good luck finding a dinner place with entertainment at a reasonable price at this time.

As you're finding, Silverster/New Years Eve, is the biggest party night across all of Europe. People make plans a year in advance. Major city's get mobbed, and there will be fireworks and parties across the entire continent. You're primary concern at this point is to find a place to get a meal. Do that. Then you can join the crowds wandering the streets or go to bed, your choice.

It will be crowded, but if you take the Metro (crowded) to the Trocadero, you'll have a great view. There will be stalls open in places. Another suggestion would be to go to the Tuileries Garden. The holiday market will probably be closed, but you can easily see the Eiffel Tower and a lot of Paris from the Place de Concorde. (Last year they had a huge party there).

For some reason my computer isn't pasting links but here are some suggestions anyway.
Try la fourchette.com and request Nouvel An. Some places may have Saint Sylvestre listed for New Year's Eve.

The large brasseries have the ambiance you mentioned. La Coupole has a danse floor downstairs, or had one. There will usually be two seatings. It sounds like you want a later seating. Search brasseries online and look for special menus. These are booked well in advance or some will close at 9 or 10 pm so staff can go home and celebrate.

At Le Vieux Belleville, a much less upscale place than you had in mind, people sing the old Piaf and other songs every night. I don't know what they are doing on New Year's Eve. I saw it on the Fourchette/Fork list.

Try guide michelin paris restaurants saint sylvestre or nouvel an and you'll get a list of Paris restaurants with New Year's Eve menus. There will be champagne but no guarantee of a dance floor.

The Seine boat cruises have NYE menus. Try Le Calife good quality or Ducasse sur Seine for best qulity meal.
