November in and out of Paris

Suggestions for travel from Paris in November? We are seniors with 8 days to travel. Spent time in Paris and Nice in April. Thinking of road or train trips toward Lyon? Or? Welcome suggestions.

We did a road trip from Paris to Normand/Brittany, Bordeaux, Dordogne and Lior Valley. We were gone 9 days total. Loved this trip. The Dordogne is a beautiful part of France. We stayed a night in La Rochelle and visited Île de Ré, an incredibly beautiful island just over the bridge from La Rochelle. We visited two gardens in The Dordogne too in addition to castles, wineries etc.

The problem with your road trip idea is that you are planning one for November when France is cold, often cloudy and rainy, and daylight will be limited. This is really the time to stay in the cities and enjoy indoor activities; concerts, museums, cafés/restaurants, and maybe shopping.

Road trips are best saved for warmer months.

Thank you. Yes, we are debating to postpone or not… just anxious to get back to France. Nothing wrong with more time in Paris again…

Birthday is in November and I like to say at my age one day is not enough so I go to Europe for the month- often to Paris. There in November 2021 FAB days, maybe 2-3 days of rain at night. November 2023, 3-4 sunny days all the rest drizzle, rain, mist, cloudy but hey, it's Paris! Have you been to Chateau de Vicomte outside Paris. Incredible place. I was there in November on the first day of their Christmas extravaganza in the rain and it was wonderful I will be back in Paris in April 2025 and will go again. I have been to the towns around Paris-Sceaux, Provins, St Germain, etc and try to go on their market days. Delightful! Just FYI going to Southern Italy this November.
