Notre Dame restorationist guide?

Hi, all--

We're on a Rick Steves' Paris tour in late April and are adding on a couple of days at the end. We'd like to book a Notre Dame restorationist guide for a party of three, sometime during the first weekend of May. What's the best way to go about this? Thanks for your counsel!

This person was posting on the forum for a while regarding Notre Dame but hasn't in a few months. She does give tours and was very good about NOT advertising on her forum posts which I thought was very professional. I have not met her so know nothing other than that she posted here. I do not know if she has the French qualifications to be an official guide.

I don't know if Notre Dame is allowing people to guide inside or not. It was pretty crowded when I visited in October (as in shoulder to shoulder in the walk around the nave).

You could also contact Paris Walks at www.paris-walks.com to see if they can arrange a private walking tour to meet your needs. I've done a private walk with them to cover a subject they only do occasionally and it was well worthwhile.

IF you are able to work something out, I'd love for you to come back with a report on how it went!

You'll love the Best of Paris tour. It is awesome. I did it in 2014 and still use knowledge gained from that tour on my yearly visits.

Hi! Time has flown by! (How are we in 2026 already!?). Things have been crazy busy, and just I haven't had time to post. Or had time for anything else, outside Notre Dame! I have a few weeks of downtime, so I'm just getting caught up on things. I'm very rarely on Instagram (or social media in general), but I'm most active on Reddit.

Yes, tours have been allowed inside since June 9th, 2025. However, Notre Dame and the Diocèse have (understandably) set several logistical and scheduling restrictions to interior tours. Tours are only allowed on certain days and during set hours, there's certain places inside where tours can't go, there's limits on tour length and group size, etc.
