Fortunately we will be in Paris in mid December and hope to see the newly re-opened Notre Dame Cathedral at that time. (The last I heard it would be reopening on 12/8/24). Does anyone know how to book tickets to enter the towers and main floor? I suspect they will sell out quickly and my internet search turned up with no information.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Shirley
I was reading about this yesterday because I'm going in March '25. It's schedule to open for the general public on December 16th.
Ceremonial opening activities will begin Dec. 7, and the first public access to the cathedral, on the afternoons of Dec. 10 to 15, is meant for all individuals involved in the restoration project.

Shirley,
Once it is reopened to the public, I doubt there will be any "entrance fee". Just a fee to ascend the Tower. Churches do not charge to visit. It is a house of prayer. (Sainte Chapelle is no longer an operating church, hence the fee.) Lucky you to have a chance to see Notre Dame.
Uh, there are plenty of churches in Europe that do in fact charge to enter and ND might perhaps become one. And I don't blame them, tourists means upkeep.
In France church buildings, even those in use for worship, are owned by the government and are free.
Update: there has been some talk by the culture minister of an entry charge. No official announcement .
Thank you, all. Really appreciate your insights. I had seen it should be open and free to visitors about mid-December. I just wondered if tickets for going up in the towers could be booked anytime before we arrive?

The Cathedral has now announced that timed bookings will open on or around 1 December- https://www.notredamedeparis.fr/en/
It looks as if the first day for personal visits will be on 9 December after 2 days of reopening ceremonies but that is not yet entirely clear.
In about a week's time (mid November) details of those ceremonies will be posted on the above website.
Here's an article describing the culture Minister's recent proposal.to start charging 5€ for entry (not for those coming for mass of course).
It's unclear whether this will come into effect, but it is definitely something the government is considering.
