We are looking for a reasonably priced tour of the Normandy beaches. We are not looking for an entire day, but a two hour tour of Utah or Omaha beach. Does anyone have suggestion?
Nick,
For a shorter tour, I'd suggest having a look at Overlord Tour as offer half-day tours and seem to get consistently high ratings. I believe these usually depart from Bayeux.
I would highly recommend booking the tour well in advance!
Nick,
Not sure what your idea of reasonably priced may be, but we toured with Sylvain Kast for a half-day and he was excellent! Easy to communicate with ahead of time and he will tailor the tour to what you want to see and do in the area. I would echo the previous poster's advice that you book early as most tours fill up quickly. Sylvain's website is: http://www.d-day-experience-tours.com/tours/
You may have difficulty locating such a short tour, because that is not nearly enough time to spend on the beaches. Do you have the flexibility to spend more time exploring the area?
The Caen Memorial Museum offers half-day group tours, departing at 9:00 and 14:00 in summer or at 13:00 from October to March.
Here's another vote for Overlords. We just did a full day, but they do half days also.
You might be better off just driving to Omaha and walking the beach then drive to the US Cemetery above Omaha Beach.

Nick,
You didn't say where you're staying but two hours will barely get you started. We were there this past Saturday and did a full, long day with Chris at Visit D-Day/Navy & Co. and just scratched the surface. The area is much bigger than you think and very spread out.
Chris was awesome, by the way. He rides in your car and will customize based on your interests if you prefer. Awesome!
Thanks for all the suggestions. I am travelling with 4 other people, but will be in the Loire valley while my friends are in Normandy as my wife and I have visited Normandy in the past. I wanted to show them how easy it is to post questions and get answers from people who have been there before. Your responses have been terrific and hopefully it is not too late for them to book one of your suggestions.
