We have five days in Paris July 5th evening arrival to July 10 evening flight. We are considering an all day bus tour to normandy(Omaha Beach etc.. we're not veterans but thought it could be an interesting historical sidetrip as well as our only chance to view the French countryside. The cost is about $200us each and includes lunch and English speaking tourgides plus headphones. Good idea. ..Or should we just do Paris for 5 days and not short change our visit. So I'm asking are we trying to do too much? We're in Europe for a month QM2 to Southampton, 3 days in Wales, 5 days in London, four days in Bilbao then onto Paris. Any opinions?
If you are passionate about going, enjoy it!
It seems like a long trip given all of the moving about that you are doing on the WHOLE trip. 14 hour trip is a lot!
Will you return to France? If so, you can do this another time.
I do think that you could fill the time in Paris, and go to Versailles for 1/2 day...or take the train to Giverney, which is my favorite!
Enjoy your trip!
It's a long pricey day , but sometimes it's worth it .
My daughter really wanted to see Mont st Michel , I had been before years ago , stayed in area for a few days , it's the best way to do it , however for trip with dd I didn't have that kind time and I didn't want to rent a car . So we did a one day bus tour from Paris .
Yes pricey , but for dd it was worth it !
However examine your motives , if it's just to fill in a day , don't do it , there are so many cheaper easier day trips you could do yourself from Paris , and five days in Paris is barely enough to see the highlights of Paris itself , but if this area really interacts and appeals to you , then do it .
As my 20 yr old daughter says " YOLO" ( you only live once ! )
