Normandy - New Years Eve

I may be spending New Years Eve 2018 in Normandy. I have been trying to research if there are any special events going on. I found Le Grande Parade in Deauville but the most recent information I found said it was cancelled in 2016 (for that year or forever?). I emailed the Deauville tourism center and they did not have info for me. Does anyone have any suggestions. Not expecting anything like a Times Square party, but any local festivities/customs. My father is not interested in big city life, he wants to spend time with locals outside the city. We will be there touring D-day sights at the end of December. I want to make this special for my family.

Thanks you!

In France, New Year's Eve us spent in private homes, family or friends, or one reserves a table at a restaurant for an elaborate fixed price meal that will go on until well after midnight. It's not a six pm, or 8 pm, or 10 pm seating deal where you eat and run. You have the table all night. Also, you won't find public displays unless you run into a town with some fireworks. That more likely on the southern coast. It's pretty bleak on the Normandy coast in winter. Your best bet is finding a restaurant with a Réveillon de St. Sylvestre (New Year's Eve) and join others for a festive restaurant meal.
