Does anyone have any guided tour recommendations or operators for touring Normandy and D-Day monuments?
Looking at starting and returning to Bayeux.
Thanks
I can recommend Overlord Tours.
If you do a search within this forum you will see many recommednations for them.
There are dozens of choices. My favorite is Gold Beach Tours.
We just did a two day tour with Overlord that was excellent. Guide, Remy, was fabulous.
You can get many additional comments by using the Search box top center, blue text, on this page. This question has come up before, so there is plenty to read about. Note that these tours are in great demand, especially in high season, and book up months before their scheduled date. Some of them are quite expensive, although posts here tend to give good reports about the quality purchased.
You didn't mention the month of the year, or whether you want to avoid renting your own car during your time in Bayeux.
We did it on our own, with two guidebooks, and were pretty happy. We overheard a few professional guides, who carried vast stores of laminated photos in big binders, and had considerable information about every bit of the landscape. I found their comprehensive presentations a bit overwhelming and declamatory. OPINION.
I have been 3 times and the best guide I've had was Dale Booth. He was fabulous. He was doing Rick Steves tours as a step on guide so not sure what his availability might be.
Based on a recommendation from this site we booked HQCompany.

We had a full day private tour for our group of 5.
It was one of the highlights of our trip.
Agree with Jules. We went on HQCompany tours 10/23 and my son and family used them last week. Pick up and drop off in Bayeau. We all agreed it was one of the very best things we ever did in many European trips.
