Which Normandy day trip from Paris can you recommend for three adults. This would be July 2023
Not recommended on this board, usually. This link covers both independent and a few guided products:
If by "Normandy" you mean the areas of interest regarding D-day, please read the thread that Tim posted. This is asked a lot on this forum, and most people who have actually gone to Normandy would not recommend trying to do it in one day—most of which will simply be spent getting there and back. This place deserves better, it is not a Disneyland joy ride. It is a 3-hour drive from Paris to Bayeux, or 2-1/2 hours by train if you are already near Gare Saint-Lazare (unlikely). And that is each way! Then it is at least 25 minutes by car each way (no public transport) from Bayeux just to the Normandy American Cemetery (only one of many sights you should see). From Utah Beach (West end of the beaches) to Sword Beach (East end) is 45 miles as the crow flies, and you can't fly. You would have to go significantly inland from either just to get to the main highway running between these two points. That is like saying you'll be in Hartford and you want to take a day trip to New York City. But you will really have to travel from Hartford to Newark, and by New York City you mean you would like to see Manhattan, Long Island and Princeton. And get home of course.
Thank you for this information. Yes, after reading more about this I see that one day is really not enough. Again, thank you for taking the time to clarify this for me.
