We are going to be in Bayeux Normandy arriving on Aug 15. The next two days we wanted to do the Bayeux Shuttle tour of DDay sites one day as well as day trip to Honfleur, We have the choice of doing either order, should we do the DDay on Friday or Sat or Honfleur on Fri or Sat - it is Assumption Week vacation - not sure if crowds will be different on either day at either site... advice? We have a car so train schedule is not a factor.
It is so easy to drive to all the beaches, American, British and Canadian. Excellent signage. Why not explore the beaches on weekdays. Perhaps fewer visitors then. Honfleur is pretty little town but will be a less intense experience.
We visited two years ago and felt one day was not adequate to explore the D-Day sites. I would suggest using both days for that or perhaps 1.5 days for D-Day sites and a 1/2 day for Bayeux. Regarding the day of the week, if you are taking an organized tour I would ask the tour operator. Most visiting will be tourists, but Saturday is often a travel day.
Have a good trip.
I did a tour of Normandy and found the Information very informative and the guides take you to the important sites of the Invasion.I would do Normandy on Friday and Honfleur on Saturday,Honfleur won't take all day,Normandy will.

bk,
At that time of year (peak holiday season) it may not matter which days you tour each place as it's going to be busy in any case. It would be highly advisable to book the tours as far in advance as possible.
